Recruiting Founding Trainers — Denver 2025
For Trainers

Do the Most Meaningful Work of Your Career

Phoenix Fitness Foundation is recruiting experienced certified personal trainers who want to expand their skills into medically-adjacent, mission-driven coaching — and get paid to do it.

The Opportunity

A Specialization That Sets You Apart

The bariatric and post-surgical population represents one of the most underserved and high-need groups in fitness. These clients aren't served well by standard programming — they need a trainer who understands the physiology of surgical weight loss, the psychology of behavioral activation, and how to build trust with people who may have had difficult experiences with fitness in the past.

Phoenix provides that training. Our certification program prepares you to work with this population with confidence — and connects you to a steady pipeline of clients who genuinely need your expertise.

Compensation Structure

Trainers join the Phoenix network as 1099 independent contractors. The Foundation reimburses you directly for subsidized client sessions.

Subsidy: Up to 80% of your hourly rate, or $50 per session — whichever is less — is covered by the Foundation.

Client contribution: The remaining portion is paid by the participant on an income-based sliding scale.

You set your own rate. You maintain your own independent practice. Phoenix clients are a supplement to your existing work, not a replacement.
